The 6th workshop Engineering Ceramics 2007
is free continuation of the previous Engineering Ceramics `03 held in
Smolenice
Castle in Slovakia, is endorsed by the American Ceramic Society
(ceramics.org), and sponsored by Robert Bosch GmbH (www.bosch.com).
Organizing committee
Conference chair: Prof. Pavol Sajgalik
Advisory board: Prof. Michael J. Hoffmann & Prof. Ralf Riedel
Secretary: Zdena Kapisinska
Local organizing committee: Zoltan Lences & Dusan Galusek
Scope of the workshop
The scope of the workshop is to commemorate the invention and recent
development in the field of high-performance ceramics. During the last few years,
the design of engineering ceramic materials, as many other high-tech materials,
proceeds the transition from micro-structural to the nano-structural approach of
their preparation. The main benefit of this approach is a new quality of materials
as high temperature super-plasticity; excellent mechanical properties (high strength,
fracture behaviour approaching the quasi-ductility, higher reliability, increased HT
properties); functional properties (high electrical and thermal conductivity, optical
transparency, graded function/properties of materials), etc.
The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in the forthcoming
Engineering Ceramics ’07 workshop and present your latest research findings
in the field of high-performance ceramics.
